More than half of Mumbai’s 18 million inhabitants live in the slums
and on the pavements. Children living on the pavement and huts along the
pavements are vulnerable to all kinds of evil one can think of. Do these
children deserve to live in poverty, in sickness, exposed to violence, crime
and vices, and their future warped due to abuse of all kinds. No they do
not. Jesus loves them. The Joy Clubs run by IMCARES aim to provide these children recreation, education and prepare them for greater challenges ahead. Daily clubs are held in 5 pavement areas with about 100 children attending. IMCARES reaches out to these children with the love and compassion of Jesus and sow the seeds of righteousness having faith that one day, out of these very children will emerge men and women of destiny. |
